Intermission

I can’t say I’ve ever given it much thought. I went on a college tour and didn’t see Howard. But when I saw the application, I knew this was where I’d go. I filled out other applications to satisfy the mother. But in my heart, I know I would be a Bison. Believe it or not, I even knew my line number way before I got it. Making the decision to go to Howard, at 16 years old, was a decision that would shape my life.

It was at Howard that I met the people I still kick it with today. It was at Howard that my ‘knapsack’ went from cotton to butter-soft leather. And you know what, me going to Howard has had an impact on other folks too. Think about it like this, if I hadn’t gone to Howard, I wouldn’t have met my girl/linesister Mu. As a result, I wouldn’t have met Edwige. Which means Edwige wouldn’t have read my blog and may not have ever started blogging. And had I not met Mu, I wouldn’t have met O–who she met through her ex-boyfriend. Then again, maybe I would have eventually met O seeing as he went to grammer school with my girl/linesister C back in Cali. If I hadn’t gone to Howard, I wouldn’t have been in my girl’s/linesister’s wedding. And if I wasn’t I wouldn’t have met her groomsmen and in turn met Manfriend through one of those groomsmen.

I don’t know if I believe in destiny. But I believe everything is really connected. I believe that sometimes friendships fade when they’ve served their purpose. The people who have linked me to other people and other stages in my life played their part and I am thankful. But I think it was all in God’s plan.

Now see, I had written a lovely ending to this but it was sucjed up into cyber space!! Dammit.

Let me try to sum this up. I don’t give all of my personality in certain settings. For work, they get a watered down me. About 15%. Then on the blog, you guys get about 30%. And in real life, those that know me, get about 85% of my thoughts. But next year, I promise to step it up again in the blog. Because I’m getting a bit bored.

I’m about to go on vacay. And it’s not that I don’t want to blog, but I’ll be busy doing other things and uninterested in sitting in front of a computer. I’ll get back in the 06 but check back because I might not be able to NOT blog.
